Meet the maker
Hi I’m Sarah and Isla-Rose is named after my 2 beautiful granddaughters. I now live in Taunton, Somerset but originally grew up in the seaside town of Minehead.
I have been sewing, crafting and knitting for over 40 years. I was taught at an early age by my mum and nan to use a sewing machine and a set of needles and haven’t stopped since. So I decided to put those skills to good use and here we are today with Isla-Rose.
Here at Isla-Rose I also love crafts in general and when I get the time I make other craft creations too ! Cushions, bunting, note boards, pebble art , Jewellery, cards and much more ….pop over for a look ! Can’t see what you’re looking for ! Just ask!
What we do
Do you have those special items of clothing that you just don’t know what to do with? Let me turn them into a bear , animal, cushion, blanket even a key ring! Every care and respect is taken with your items from start to finish. Most items of clothing can be used! Please get in touch to discuss if you’re unsure.
All clothing is lined with a cotton stabiliser to prevent stretching and fraying of your materials and a quality toy filling, cushion insert, cotton batting is used to sculpt your keepsake.
A full design consultation is discussed with you prior to your item being made. If you have specific requests please let us know.
What is a memory Item
A memory item is made from loved ones clothing, who are sadly no longer with us. Every care and respect is given to your items from the moment they arrive until the time they arrive back with you. We can also add ashes or a lock of hair to your memory items if required. Please get in touch to discuss this. Personalisation can be added to certain items.
What is a keepsake Item
A keepsake item is made from those special items of clothing that you can’t bring yourself to part with. These may be baby clothes, school uniform, university grads, sports items any of the clothes you just want to keep forever. Turned lovingly into a keepsake of your choice. Every care and respect is given to your items from the moment they arrive with us until they are safely back with you. Personalisation can be added to most items.
Please note that Keepsakes and Memory items are NOT TOYS and therefore not recommended to children under the age of 14. Due to them being totally unique and individual to you, they are not be able to be CE&UKCA tested. They are made as a decorative item only. The upmost care and attention is given whilst sewing your items with a home sewing machine and hand stitching final components. Safety eyes or glass eyes are used and limbs where appropriate are attached by nut and bolt joints. these components along with Buttons and detailing can be swallowing/ choking hazards. Isla-Rose Memory Bears does not accept any liability for the misuse of these decorative keepsakes.
